th grade students prepared essays for the state and national writing competition,
Letters About Literature, sponsored by the National Center for the Book at the Library of Congress. Students wrote about a book they have read which impacted them or made them think differently about the world. Out of 3000 entries across the state of Massachusetts, the essays of five of our 7
th grade students made it though to the state semifinals, and one essay was selected to receive one of 15 state-level honors at the State House this month! Congratulations to Maya Clemente, Jack Keane, Lucy Pelletier, and Julia Reyes for reaching the semifinals, and to Emilio Leroux-Parra for being selected for a state award!
