The Library and Technology center is located on the fourth floor of Baldwin School. Our beautiful library space is conveniently attached to a full service computer lab. A laptop cart is also available for in classroom use. The library is the place for collaborative projects and research for all subjects. It is frequently used a gathering place for school events, after school clubs, and as place for tutoring and working with small groups. If anyone would like to volunteer in the library media center for either a regularly scheduled time each week, or for a one-time project, please email Karin Kugel.

Technology
Students visit the computer lab with their classroom teacher to use the computers to practice, apply and practice their learning. Many students practice with the Symphony Math program before school and participate in the Scratch after school program. Students in grades 3 and 4 have weekly technology classes with the instructional technology specialist.
Weekly Library Classes
Weekly library classes are held for students in grades K-5 students. Library standard based lessons and skills are taught through games, songs, and projects. Students frequently hear picture books and nonfiction texts read aloud and discuss, write, draw, or act out their learning. Children have approximately 10-15 minutes at the end of each library class to browse, borrow, and read/look at books. Through collaboration and co-teaching with the classroom teacher throughout the year, students will learn and use 21st century skills through research and other projects. Grade 4 and 5 students also participate in the Massachusetts Children’s Book Awards.
