"Home to Home / Hogar to Hogar" Exposition

The Amigos "Home to Home/ Hogar a hogar" exposition was inspired by their language arts and history curriculum, a visit to the Doctors Without Borders exhibit, and the presentation of Dr. Theresa Betancourt (Amigos parent) and her team from the School of Public Health. Students explored the question, What defines a sense of home? through the testimonies of immigrants and refugees. They presented multiple experiences of refugees and immigrants with a focus on resources for survival, obstacles faced, navigation of different cultures, factors of attraction and expulsion, and global, federal and municipal politics.
La presentación interactiva de Amigos llamado "De hogar a hogar", fue inspirada por los curriculos de artes de lenguaje e historia, una visita a la exhibición de Doctores sin Fronteras y la presentación de la Dra. Theresa Betancourt (madre de familia) y su equipo de la Escuela de Salud Pública. Los estudiantes exploraron la pregunta ¿Qué define un sentido de hogar? a través de testimonios de inmigrantes y refugiados. Presentaron múltiples experiencias de refugiados e inmigrantes con un enfoque en los recursos de sobrevivencia, los obstáculos enfrentados, la navegación de diferentes culturas, los factores de atracción y expulsión, y la política global, federal y municipal.
