I am so pleased to announce that this year, Sam Martinborough and the Mssng Links Program along with myself will be teaming up to teach the 7th grade health curriculum in a new and exciting way. The two of us will be working together to teach the curriculum themes of 7th grade health (feelings and life skills, resolving conflicts, understanding substances, depression and signs of suicide, making nutrition choices, and intro into sexuality) and students will showcase what they have learned through a performance created by Mr. Martinborough and the Missing Links Program. I am so excited about this collaboration because I think that theater and health education go hand in hand.

Through theater students are able to practice making healthy decisions, standing up to peer pressure, and build the resiliency skills necessary to lead a healthy lifestyle. This process will also allow us to examen health from a unique lens and I believe that by providing our traditional curriculum in a new and creative manner will prove to be very exciting and beneficial for all students. Mr. Martinborough will be joining the classroom about once a month until April to work on this project and then in May we will be working together each health class to prepare students for the end of the year performance. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
