TigreEighth grade is a year in which students focus on deepening their analysis about their reading. Students annotate and analyze quotes and textual evidence to delve into the themes authors explore and to interpret how an author’s craft contributes to the revelation of those themes. These analyses tend to be shared orally or in writing among students.

ELAThis past February 2017, eighth graders created Book Trailers to present both their literary analyses and practice media technology skills established by the 8th grade district and state standards.
These student samples highlight a profound and thorough literary analysis of independent reading, a coherent and cohesive writing of ideas, and the use media technology tools such as “Power Point” and “Prezi”. These Book Trailers will serve as book recommendations shared among our upper school students.
