AmigosThe eighth grade trip to New York City was spectacular. Although we spent three days away from our families, we got to bond even more with our second family, one another. We worked hard fundraising thousands of dollars for that one cause, but I believe the bake sales, the leaf raking, babysitting, car washing, and all the parent planning meetings were all worth the while.

One of the things we despised for the first five minutes in NYC was when our chaperones took away our phones, but we realized things (life) seems so much brighter and fuller without having our faces stuck in a screen all day. Some of the best moments in this trip were having the anticipation of knowing your hotel room the first day and seeing celebrities like Ed Sheeran. Two of the most amazing places we visited were el Museo del Barrio and the Tenement Museum. We ate at many different restaurants and enjoyed sightseeing. Most importantly, we did this all together.
